Calling all Americans…….to PhotoJ!

blogFLAG    Watching the locations of those who visit this blog, I am always struck by the large number of views generated from the United States. As I type this, it occurs to me that while the US (Rochester NY) is a scant 35 -40 miles across the lake, we traditionally receive very few applications from our neighbours to the south.

So………….this is an invitation to come and study Photojournalism with us here at Loyalist College! If you are visually oriented, interested in the modern communications skill set of photography, writing, and multimedia production, and love to tell stories, then perhaps you might want to consider studying with us.

Apart from being the only full time 2-year Photojournalism Program in Canada, our students regularly receive international recognition from organizations such as World Press and POYI, among others for their photographic accomplishments.

One of the best incentives for US citizens is the cost. Far less expensive than the equivalent in the US college or university systems, the added benefit of a 30% currency exchange discount off the top makes the tuition for Americans even more attractive.

Fourth semester field placements can be done in the US, lessening the time away from home and allowing for a solid entry into the US job market.

And best of all, you get to experience ALL things Canadian while you are here!

The visa application process for US citizens studying in Canada is considerably easier and shorter than it is for other countries. There is still time to apply to begin your studies in September with us.

If you wish to discuss this further, please contact our International Coordinator Jodie Russet at jrussett@loyalistc.on.ca , or contact me, Frank O’Connor at FOConnor@loyalistc.on.ca. If you would like to discuss it over the phone, I can be reached at 613 969-1913 x2270. I look forward to hearing from you!
