Loyalist Photojournalism 2017 grad Chris Donovan is coming home to Loyalist this week.
To say that he has been busy since graduating in June would be an understatement. After his work placement at the Ottawa Citizen, Chris returned to his home town of St. John NB for a summer contract as a reporter / photographer. He then moved back to Ontario, freelancing for various publications in Toronto, and spending time at the Canadian Press as winner of the Tom Hanson Award fellowship. And if that wasn’t hectic enough, Chris attended the renowned Eddie Adams workshop in the fall, and had his work featured on the New York Times Lens blog. All this while continuing to work on personal projects that won him three prizes (one of them gold) in the annual College Photographer of the Year (CPOY) competition in November! The competition is a worldwide affair, that honours the very best of emerging college photographers and visual journalists.
Chris will be speaking to first and second year students as part of the Photo Seminar Class that is a weekly feature in the program. Welcome home Chris!
